Purpose and History of the Club
PURPOSE
-
The purpose of the Northern California Rolls-Royce Owners's Club (NCRROC) is to foster the use, maintenance, restoration and preservation of Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles. More specifically, the Club seeks to develop, publish and exchange technical and historical information among the members interested in the automotive products of Rolls-Royce Motorcars and Bentley Motors.
The Club utilizes newsletters, technical meets, tours, concours d'elegance, picnics, parties and other social gatherings that effect the interchange of information, fulfilling its purpose and objectives of use, maintenance, restoration and preservation.
HISTORY
-
The NCRROC was founded in 1956 by seven people, including Phil Hill, the former auto racing World Champion. The Club became affiliated with the national Rolls-Royce Owner's Club in 1957 and was subsequently designated a region of the national organization. The Club has grown from the original founding 7 members to over 500 primary, spouse/partner and associate members.
The Northern California Rolls-Royce Owner's Club is a self supporting organization with its own elected Chairman and Board of Directors, by-laws, dues, programs, monthly newsletter, appointed officers and technical advisors.
BENEFITS
-
The benefits of belonging to the NCRROC are many. Member have the opportunity to learn through various programs detailed information regarding the maintenance, restoration and preservation of their cars. The Club sponsors many events to places of unusual interest such as private car collections, museums, mystery tours, and picnics that give members a chance to exercise their cars and meet with other members with like interests. The Club also organizes some events that are purely social in nature such as the annual picnic and the annual holiday party and awards banquet.
Since the NCRROC is affiliated with the national club, our members can participate in the national club's annual meet, receive the magazine "The
Flying Lady" 6 times a year and participate in national tours.
